Here’s the toy stuff I designed the previous characters (now in archives section) for.
If you are having a hard time seeing the figures, just click on the pic and it will take you to a larger image of the toys….

Shark Fink!

Kids call your Mama ’cause if you see one of these your gonna need help! I did this one out of my love for the art of Basil Wolverton and Big Daddy Roth’s Rat Fink.
It’s a nice shark if you like this kind of thing. I will do a t-shirt design of this soon…
Update: I did a shirt design and here’s the link

Road Rat

Here’s a Road Rat character that I should have posted with the rest of the earlier Road Rats post, but I was having upload problems and I finally figured out what was wrong.
This guy came out really cool in the toy line and was fun for me to design. I love my job!

It’s the mighty Horneck the Horrible. Here’s one that kinda goes with the previous post except this was actually done for an action figure line pitch. I have a couple more of these guys that go with this line that I will post when I can find them. Although it looks like it could be an Orc it’s really not, as I did this way before the LOTR movies came out….

Orc Thing

I did this one kinda goofing off in painter. Conceptart.org had a Orc paint off so I entered this in it. Fun while it lasted.

Today

Today’s Illustration Friday. I think I will post this, a wired robot, a sketch I did as R&D for a local toy company I work for on occasion.
I love robots and this one is called “i-Pakin Tube”. Hopefully the name says it all.

Request

Since I’m doing request, my wife Anna wanted to see this one up.
Just something I did in anticipation to the book I am working on (which I will post artwork from later) so I guess this would be a teaser…

OOPS!

I forgot to post this one, since I’m posting old stuff. This was done for Topps Star Wars Galaxy (series I) trading card set. I got request from some little bloggers that I know that have just recently discovered Star Wars, so here you go.
Traditional paints: Acrylic on gessoed masonite panel, sables and a bit of airbrush work….

Talk about a sprout out of control, good thing Hercules is around…
This is an old favorite of mine, a collaboration with artist Earl Norem. He’s probably best known for his work on Conan. I did a search on Google but could not find if he has a site up. I did find lot’s of scans from his “He-man” and “Transformers” days along with some of his “GI-Joe work. The best thing about this piece is I got to keep the original. Earl did Hercules and I did the background and all the cool skulls along with the monster I can’t remember the name of…. oh well.

I Spy

With crooked eyes…. Sometimes you just have to get things out of your system, this is one of those. Done from how I feel sometimes, sitting in a cave, staring at the cold blue flame of my monitor….Ink & Brush and Photoshop colors.

Like I Said….

….. no particular order. Here’s a vector piece done for an automotive accessories company, they do the floormats, seat covers, steering wheel covers etc.. The company changed hands (from Pennzoil to Shell) and this line got dropped, otherwise you probably would have seen this all over the place.
This was a fun piece regardless.

Like Magic

I changed the name of the file I was having problems uploading and suddenly like magic it works. Wow! Anyway, I decided I was going post art at random instead of trying to follow some kind of format or something, so this one is a piece I did of my pet German Shepherd “Renfield”. He didn’t really look like this (in case you are wondering), this is the way I thought that other people saw him because when ever I would take him for walks, people would cross the street to the other side to avoid him….. actually the dog was a big baby if you knew him.

Day Of Weirdness

If you have Murophobia you won’t like this picture because Murophobia is the fear of rats….. Uhhhh, today has been a day of weirdness for my working with my computer and Blogger. For some reason or another I can’t upload the picture I wanted to upload, Blogger rejects it even when I make a jpeg from a separate file of the same art AND my computer decided to stop working for a bit when I tried to scan this other piece in. Anyway this is my take and tribute on Gary Panter’s current fine art style. I took an inking of a character I had planned on doing a comic of (I probably still will when I get the time) and applied a little paint. The characters name is “Black Death Willie” and the art is for sale if anyone is interested…..
