I dropped off my artwork for the Skull Show to Dave Witt the other morning, and got all the info. The opening reception is May 6th, from 6-10 in the evening. The show runs through May 28th at the Back Alley Gallery, 262 4th St. #LLC in Lowertown, St. Paul. Many of the guys from Squad 19 will have works in the show as well.

In other news my Permutations of Robots series was highlighted over at Bigtime’s Robot-A-Day. Go and visit.

Fun One

Here’s one for all my friends at illustartion friday.com. This was a fun one I did for my daughter Julie. Her school needed a t-shirt design for the five piece band they had. The school name is Will Rogers so I thought this would be perfect. Too bad I can’t find the finished art work right now, it has “rope” lettering and music notes all over that bring the piece alive. When I find it I will post it….

I have an interview today with an advertising agency that counts General Mills among their clients. I took the opportunity to re-design one of their properties as a creative exercise and to show as a portfolio piece. I enjoyed doing it but I’m still thinking of how I would have tackled Frankenberry.

This piece represents some of my first digital work. It’s for an educational company that I did a bunch of work for a few years back.

Doodling a little bit. Not too shabby. I don’t draw many Marvel characters, but I might have to start.

This will be on display at the Skull Show at the Back Alley Gallery in St. Paul during early May. I will confirm the date when I’ve got it. This should be an awesome show, the place is going to be packed with wall-to-wall art, all of the Squad 19 artists are going to be showing as well.

How are things with you?

Not too bad really, I was slated to do some contract design work for about three months, keeping me nicely busy. Then I got yanked from that project after just a week and a half. I hope to be working next week, if not, I really promise to get the new website up and running. Cross my fingers.

Anything else coming up soon?

Some more Squad 19 work that I’ll post in a day or so, and hopefully some new illustrations. Depends on how day-job intensive the next week is. But life is good.

This is a new piece that is currently up at the Birds and Bees show at Primary Space Gallery. I have also uploaded a few new pieces to my site.
