San Diego sketches!

So San Diego might be one of the flyest cities I’ve been to so far. It was a blast. All the nerds (and artists….with me being both) converged on the Convention Center for Comic Con 2008. It was great meeting all my heroes! Thanks to everyone that took the time out to talk and scope out my work, I really appreciate it. While I was there I did some doodling and these pages are the result. I think one of them was done before SD but most of them should be from the trip. I can’t believe that I forgot to draw one of the bike cab dudes. I seen as many of those guys as comic books….haha
all the best,

TYPEFLASH!
TYPEFLASH has brought my productivity to a stand still. SO FUN. You can play around with several animated typefaces, customize them, save them, email them, print them, embed them. Pretty much the only thing they forgot on the site was a bib to catch all drool. (Give my little creation a second or two to […]

Image bookmarking top ten lists!
oobject is like ffffound (what’s with all the websites with repeated letters these days, haha sheesh), if ffffound were organized by a really anal person. Actually oobject is one of several “curation” sites that are becoming really popular. You suggest images, they curate and compile. 16 giant bucket excavators. 10 ski jumps. 12 ejector seats. […]

Crazy Ben
Sure, he was brilliant and all, but I’m sure that just like the rest of us, the older that Ben Franklin got the crazier he became, right?
By the way, you may have noticed that my blog is currently sporting the “default” look by Wordpress (it used to look like this. Remember?). I upgraded to the latest version a few weeks back and sadly had to revert back to this modest appearance. Eventually I’ll rework the blog… I’ve been meaning to do that for some time now… but there is too much junk on TV to watch.

NEVVER
In keeping with the theme of double v’s, I present you with Nevver. The premise is simple, Peter posts one img and one mp3 every day. Two reasons why it works. 1 - Peter’s taste in music is excellent and 2 - The images are all from random films (that would please even the most […]

Comic Con
I was quite inspired by a lot of the comic-book-art-nerdry, as well as all the great artwork at the show, so I recorded a new digital painting. This next one is more of a sketch and fun process, but I’ve been listening to the feedback and requests and will try to deliver. So quite soon I’ll finish editing and post the new Digital Painting Podcast.
Check back soon!

Secret Spot
I went camping this weekend with my old man and my sister. We went to our favourite (secret) spot, my pops caught two fish, and it rained just enough the first night that the fire ban was lifted and we could enjoy smores around the campfire - it was a perfect weekend. If you are […]

Every now and then I browse VVORK and today I came across the work of Germaine Kruip. Kruip used 300 computer-controlled halogen lights and a translucent fabric to create a moving shadow in this hallway. “The Wavering Skies” looks like something out of a Kubrick film or a Jamiroquai video, and while the work itself […]

Black and Gold
Sam Sparro is that guy on my block that I like to make fun of for wearing ridiculously skinny jeans and neon sunglasses without lenses. BUT Sam Sparro is also that guy who released a song called “Black and Gold” that has pretty much become my anthem for the summer. As much as I’d like […]
